Cunning Hat for Blythe: Knitting Pattern

Materials: 4 size 8 dpns and worsted weight yarn in orange, yellow, and maroon.

Hat: Cast on 48 stitches in orange yarn, join into a circle and distribute on three DPNs(16 stitches per needle).

    ~Rows 1-3: *K2, P2* around

    ~ Rows 4-9: K around

    ~ Rows 10-16: Change to yellow. K across.

    ~ Row 17: *Knit 2, K2tog* around.

    ~ Row 18: K around

    ~Row 19: *Knit 1, K2tog* around

    ~Row 20: K around.

    ~ Row 21: K2tog around.

    ~Row 22: K around.

Break yarn, thread on needle and run through all six stitches and cinch together to secure top of hat.

Earflaps: Pick up 8 stitches at side of hat onto one DPN. Work earflap flat.

    ~ Rows 1-6: Using maroon yarn, work stockinette (K one row, P the next). (8 stitches)

    ~ Row 7: K2tog across. (4 stitches)

    ~ Row 8: P across. (4 stitches)

    ~ Row 9: K2tog across (2 stitches).

    ~ Row 10: Slip 1^st stitch, P, pass slipped stitch over the purl stitch. Break yarn and secure.

Make pompom using all 3 colors and attach to the top of hat.
